Epiphone Viola Bass
Epiphone introduces the Viola, one of the most recognized basses in the world. A popular bass for British Invasion bands who couldn’t afford finer Gibson and Epiphone instruments, the Viola’s unique construction and woody tone produce unique sound on stage and in the studio. Today, vintage models are difficult to find and are often plagued by vintage problems along with thier vintage price tag. Epiphone engineers have solved those problems with our Viola, which has the same classic sound with improved pickups, hardware, and electronics.
- Historic Viola body style
- NYR™ and NYT™ mini humbuckers
- Classic vintage sunburst finish
The Look of A Classic
The Epiphone Viola features a laminated Maple top and Maple body in a beautiful Vintage Sunburst (VS) finish. The unique 30.5” scale Maple neck is hand set and glued. The fingerboard has a a 12” radius, a 1.65” nut, and classic dot inlays. The headstock riffs on our Epiphone's Sloped Dovewing design seen on Epiphone models through the 60s.
Vintage Tone For Today
The Epiphone Viola’s unique tonal range comes from a NYR (neck) and NYT (bridge) mini humbucker which accentuates the natural tone of the Maple body.
